Destroyed during storms that ravaged the area in September 2008, the new Rio Grande Village Nature Trail boardwalk at Big Bend National Park in Southwest Texas along the Rio Grande River bordering Mexico has been reopened.

Superintendent William Wellman formally dedicated the new boardwalk across the beaver pond on the Rio Grande Village Nature Trail with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
